Description: The NEW Pendle Tilting Wheel Support Rack is our ultimate rack, easier to fit and easier to use. It combines the popular and well regarded Wheel Support Rack with a practical tilt mechanism allowing access to the boot while the rack is loaded. This type of rack offers the best solution for Car and Bike friendly carrying whilst reaffirming the Pendle attributes of Strong, Simple and Safe.
We took the original Pendle Wheel Support Rack design, retained the features that users have loved for years and added the tilting mechanism (along with a few other refinements), allowing boot access without having to remove the bikes. So you still get individual vertical supports that can be rotated freely to fit your frame and folded flat when not in use. The tyres are still held by D Loops that allow full adjustment to fit your wheelbase allowing a solid and safe hold on the bike. All adjustments are tool free and easy to do in a cold wet car park at the end of long ride.
Standard D Loop sizes are 62mm (2.25 inches) wide. For extra wide tyres, 75mm (3 inch) D Loops are available on request at time of order.
A quick release securing pin system passes through holes in the mounting block and bottom of the rack arms.
This carrier is supplied with the Behind the Ball Mounting, which sandwiches between the plate and tow ball of standard 2 bolt flange tow bars.
We recommend that the bikes placed on the rack weigh no more than 15 kg each. The combined weight of rack and bikes must not exceed the noseweight, the rack weighs 19kg.
We pre-assemble most of the rack making to make fitting quicker and easier than ever.
This rack is not suitable for 4x4's with external spare wheels or sideways hinging rear doors.
Please note that the rack is supplied with fitting for a single electrical socket. Doubles available on request.
