Style: Named after the ancient trade route stretching from the Mediterranian to China this bike is aimed at the serious tourer.

Built with top quality Columbus and Dedacciai butted steel the frame has an integrated pannier rack made from stainless steel tubing. This gives a far stiffer and stronger rack than the bolt on variety.

The Silkroad is available in four sizes: S, M, L and XL

Each Tout Terrain bike is full clever design touches that you won't see easily in the pictures. You may notice that the mudgaurds are mounted on short stays fixed to the fork and pannier rack. This provides a lighter and much stiffer mounting for the guards and they will not suffer from fatigue in the way some guards can.
The integrated pannier rack allows internal routing for a rear dynamo wire which will mean a neater looking and more reliable lighting system.

Every frame is fitted with an Ergo-Stop handlebar stop. This stops the handlebars from rotating through 360 degrees in the event of a fall which can cause damage to your frame if your brake levers hit the top tube or your dynamo light hits the downtube.
Frame: Each Tout terrain cycle is built to order. The Silkroad is available in two component grades (Silver and Gold) in both derailleur gear and Rohloff hub gear options.

Some components in the Silver specification can be upgraded and there are many accessory options, please call us for further details.
Forks: Columbus Zona and Dedacciai tubing with stainless steel integrated pannier rack. Dropouts and all braze ons are in stainless steel.

Frames for use with the Rohloff hub gear are supplied with an eccentric bottom bracket to adjust chain tension.

The frame has a total load capacity (rider, bike and luggage combined) of 160kg.
